Hooking the Prairies - An Intro to Rug Hooking on May 23rd

Learn the basics of rug hooking and complete your own piece of fibre art. In this class
you will learn the basics of how to hook. You will learn how to pull a loop, the common
materials and equipment used and techniques on how to finish your rugs. You will also
learn a little bit about the history of rug hooking and have a chance to see a few
traditional rugs. You will learn everything necessary to complete a small piece of art
(5”x5”) from start to finish. Most of all, you will have a chance to have some fun and chat
with others just like a traditional hook-in.

All materials provided including a simple pine frame, backing, hook, and all wool.
