Workshop length: 3 hours
Workshop Description: Learn the basics of rug hooking and complete your own piece of fibre art. In this class you will learn the basics of how to hook. You will learn how to pull a loop, the common materials and equipment used and techniques on how to finish your rugs. You will also learn a little bit about the history of rug hooking in the Maritimes and have a chance to see a few traditional rugs. You will complete a small piece of art (5"x5") for your wall from start to finish and take it home ready to hang. Most of all, you'll have a chance to have some fun and chat with others just like a traditional hook-in.
Materials will include a simple pine frame, backing, hook and wool to complete a 5" by 5" piece
