For part two of our colorwork series we are learning the Intarsia Technique. This colorwork technique is used for working back and forth with yarn bobbins.
We will be using the pattern Intarsia Christmas Tree Coaster by Selena Designs.
The finished piece will be 5 1/2 inches square. Guage in not cruial for this class.
Knowledge of how to knit, purl, cast on and bind off are needed.
Materials Needed:
- 4.5 mm straight needles
- worsted weight yarn in two contrasting colors (20 grams for background, 10 grams for tree)
- ruler
- tapestry needle
- scissors
- pencil
- copy of the pattern chart
- *optional chart keeper
Homework: Students are asked to complete rows 1 to 6 before the beginning of class. Do not use a third color for the border, but use it as a guide for a garter stitch border.
Class is held on Sept 19th from 10:30am to 12:30pm with Carol G.
