Queen City Fibre Festival 2023

 

That's right! Regina is getting a fibre festival. Since opening the store and getting to know the fibre community more and more there seems to be a lack of fibre festivals in Saskatchewan. I am (hopefully haha) going to change that.

The Queen City Fibre Festival will take place on September 30th at the Eastview Community Center from 10am to 4:30pm.

Admission will be by donation. Either a yarn donation for Angels 4 Warmth or a cash donation for Carmichael Outreach.

There will be raffle prizes with proceeds also going to Carmichael Outreach

- Carmichael Outreach is a registered charity located in Regina, Saskatchewan that provides various services to those in our community who experience poverty and homelessness. Their mission is to foster empowerment through dignity, respect, and advocacy in our community.

 

Village Mamas YQR will be putting on a canteen to help raise funds for their organization. Hot dogs, hamburgers, chips and drinks will be available.

Demos

Rhonda Lamb from The Fibre Bin will be demonstrating the art of wet felting from 10:20am to 11:10am

 

Cathy Merkley from Alpaca Naturally will be demonstrating how to skirt an alpaca fleece from 12pm to 1pm. She will also have some items available for sale after the demo.

 

Susan from the Regina Weavers and Spinners Guild will be demonstrating the magic of spinning your own yarn from 2:00pm to 3:30pm.
