In this class our instructor will walk you through how to take a tube and make it into a pair of socks. This class will cover adding on toes and afterthought heels. You will be cutting into your knitting. I know it is scary, but our instructor, Darla and Brianna are here for moral support.

This class will not cover how to make the tube. Students are asked to bring the completed tube to class to then learn how to add toes and heels

BONUS Class Day: If you would like help getting started on your tube there will be a bonus starter class on Sept 7th from 10:30am to noon.

For the tube: Knit a 75 gram tube in DK (#3 light) weight yarn on  needles. The tube should be 48 stitches round with 2 inches of ribbing on each end. Use your choice of stretchy cast on (recommend German Twisted) and stretchy bind off (https://www.abeeinthebonnet.com/blog/my-favorite-easy-bind-off-for-toe-up-socks/).

Total length on the tube including ribbing is 20 to 28 inches.

Students will also receive instructions on how to do the tube sock with fingering weight yarn

Please bring your tube, 3.25mm double pointed needles and yarn for heels and toes.

Knowledge of how to knit, purl and work in the round are needed.

Classes are October 4th and 18th from 10:30am to noon
